John Blount Trumpet Mouthpieces

John Blount's personal trumpet mouthpieces are now available.

John Blount is recently retired from the Commodores, the United States Navy's premiere jazz ensemble. He is simultaneously engaged as first chair trumpet in Washington and Baltimore for the hit musicals The Producers, Hairspray, Spamalot, Mame, Throughly Modern Millie, My Fair Lady, Wicked, and High School Musical. He is also co-leader, lead trumpet, and business manager for the John Blount/Dave Tucker New Big Band. John now brings to the civilian music scene in the National Capital area some extraordinary trumpet skills and a wealth of experience across the entire musical spectrum.

We are proud to introduce his mouthpiece series, which has an excellent upper register. The sound is full and very even from top to bottom. The rim is extremely comfortable, providing durability for extended playing.

The only trumpet mouthpiece designed for players who wear braces. Designed by trumpet player Rich Szabo and Greg Black, the new BP Mouthpiece takes away the frustration of playing with braces.

Reduce cut lips, improve sound and range! The BP Mouthpiece has a comfortable cushion rim and a v-cup to reduce back pressure.

"I wanted to let you what a difference the BP mouthpiece made for one of my students who has braces. Previously, his tone quality, range, and endurance was poor.
